Data Analyst - Guest Experience

Job Needs and Characteristics

The Data Analyst works alongside the Technology team and delves into the recesses of large data sets of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data to discover hidden knowledge about our client’s businesses and to develop methods to leverage that knowledge within their lines of business. The successful candidate combines strengths in mathematics and applied statics, computer science, visualization capabilities and a healthy sense of exploration and knowledge acquisition.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, Biology, Physics or relevant quantitative science field
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst with data mining responsibilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of machine-learning approaches, preferably in the context of biomedical/biological research
  • Knowledge of R, SQL, and Python
  • Familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset
  • Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau) and distributed data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop)

Responsibilities

  • Identify patterns from structured and unstructured data to generate hypotheses that enhance the guest/customer experience
  • Modeling complex scientific problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques
  • Integrating and preparing large, varied data sets, architecting specialized database and computing environments, and communicating results
  • Machine-learning research
  • Collaborate with researchers in project teams for timely delivery of results and clear communication

      
Salary range is up to 100k based upon skills and past experience.
