Job Needs and Characteristics

The Senior Database Administrator works alongside the data team to manage and maintain all databases across multiple locations. They are assertive, creative, and are looking for career growth. The right Senior Database Administrator combines their strengths in mathematics, computer science, and innovation with a healthy sense of exploration and knowledge acquisition.

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field
  • 5-10 years of Database Administrator experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication with interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Cassandra, Couchbase, Oracle, Java, Business Intelligence (BI) SQL, N1QL, CQL


  • Analyze data and identify gaps such as data buildups or clusters, bottlenecks, slow queries that could impact the guest experience 
  • Maintain and assure data integrity and the health and service functionality of the data structure
  • Actively monitor existing databases
  • Improve the process for data sources and strategies by rearchitecting solutions
  • Provide daily support for existing database solutions, including modifying, testing, validating, and documenting system changes
  • Participate in day-to-day system administration including performance tuning, system monitoring, problem investigation, and optimization
  • Assume database administrator role for projects as designated by supervisor which may include: analyzing user needs and creating a proper database design to meet those needs; installing and configuring new database environments and upgrading existing database environments.
  • Collaborate on creative problem-solving issues with various teams 

Salary range is up to $120k based on skills and experience.
